Golf Workouts – A Quick Way Of Becoming A Better Golfer

Golf workouts can play an important part in helping the golfer towards a better standard of performance of the golf course and personal enjoyment of the game of golf.

From a logical point of view it makes sense to develop and fine tune those muscles that we golfers use most often throughout the golf swing.

I look at the strong hands and forearms of the professional golfer, then observe my own weakness in those muscles and I do not need to ask myself why I don’t hit the ball as far as they do. The answer is obvious. I need to strengthen my hands and forearms, then I will probably be able to hit longer golf drives.

What sort of golf workouts are most effective? In my view, it is best to focus on honing the muscles in the arms, legs and back. The best way to look at golf workouts is to think about the golf swing, and which muscles or groups of muscles are being used the most.

Starting from the hands, arms, shoulders, hips, legs, back, just have a think about those muscles you are using while you are swinging the golf club. Just by taking the time to think about your body in this way will help you to pinpoint those areas of your physique you feel you need to improve your fitness for golf.

You can do this analysis at home or at the office, and you do not need to have your golf clubs with you, although at some stage swinging a golf club needs to be done to help with your self analysis.

Golf workouts do contribute to better golf and longer hitting, which in turn means more enjoyment of the game, and a lower handicap. So I believe it is in our best interests to get our bodies in shape and realise our full potential on the golf course.
